Ever wondered what the best selling vehicle in the UK is? Well, the community of producers and Traders (SMMT) has revealed the Top 10 for January 2020, and once again the Ford Fiesta ruled supreme.
Fiesta topped the charts with 77,833 registrations at 2019, so it's not surprising to see it get to lead this year with 6,087 for January.
The Ford Focus took second place on the list with 5,287 registrations, with the Nissan Qashqai stealing third place with the 4,608-making the best-selling SUV in the UK.
Total new car sales dropped by 7.3 per cent in January, with petrol cars dropping almost 10 per cent and diesel cars lowered a whopping 36 per cent.

1. Ford Fiesta-6,087 Registration
2. Ford Focus – 5,287 Registration
Ford has nailed in the top two places with Focus taking second place. Golf Mk8 is set to hit the Showrooms soon so we should expect tight competition for the remaining 2020.3. Nissan Qashqai-4,608 Registration
Qashqai has a strong start to 2020 with 4,608 registrations making it convenient for the best-selling crossover. The rival of the closest segment, Kia Sportage, sold almost half of Nissan in January with 2,457.
4. Vauxhall Corsa-4,373 Registration
Vauxhall Corsa was the fourth-grossing car in the UK in 2019 and remained fourth for January 2020. There is a new model out now, so expect this a strong start for 2020 to continue.
5. Volkswagen Golf-4,027 Registration
Volkswagen Golf came both years ago with 58,994 registrations. It's been slow to 2020 with just 4,027 Golfs for sale so far, but with the new MK8 model close by, expect the figure and its position on this list to improve.
6. Mercedes A-Class-3,214 Registration
A-Class has sold well thanks to its premium imagery and competitive financing offerings from Mercedes. A-class came five years ago with 53,724 registrations.
7. Kia Sportage – 2,457 Registration
Kia Sportage crept into the top 10 years ago with a finish at the tenth place and showed positive so far in 2020 with the registration of 2,457 taking the South Korean crossover to the seventh place.
8. BMW 3 Series-Registration 2,422
The BMW 3 series proved popular because it sits comfortably in the top 10 with 2,422 registrations for January. For those who want Super-Saloon thrills, the new M3 will be available later this year.
9. Volkswagen Polo-2,336 Registration
The sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo champion places ninth in 2019 with 37,453 registrations. For 2020 Polo was once again in the ninth place with 2,336 bookings so far.
10. Vauxhall Grandland X-2,261 Registration
The Vauxhall Grandland X got 2,261 registrations on January 2020 which means there are three crossovers shown in the top 10.
